Abstract This research presents a lattice structure topology optimization (LSTO) method that significantly expands the design space by creating novel candidate assesses an extremely large range of effective material properties. About details, is employed to lattices with extreme directional tensile or shear properties subject different volume fraction limits and optimized are categorized into groups according their dominating The developed combining elementary lattices, picking up one from each group, then parametrized relative densities. In this way, LSTO greatly expanded for ever increased accessible property range. Moreover, constitutive model combinations pre-established so as eliminate tedious in-process repetitive homogenization. Finally, few numerical examples experiments explored validate effectiveness proposed method. superiority proved through comparing existing methods. options concurrent structural also further enhancement mechanical performance.
